# TLS Manager

> Inspect managed and imported certificates, track validity and issuance, and manage certificates used by Cloud CDN.

TLS Manager is the project certificate inventory for Cloud CDN. Open **TLS Manager → Certificates** to view covered domains, issuer, status, expiration, and certificate usage. Access requires an active Cloud CDN or TLS Manager service and the relevant certificate permissions.

| Certificate type | How you manage it |
| - | - |
| Aptranet Managed | Configure on the distribution; inspect issuance and renewal in TLS Manager |
| Advanced managed | Inspect the managed certificate and its issuance details; availability depends on your service |
| Imported | Upload your certificate and private key, assign it to a distribution, and replace it before expiry |

Managed certificates are read-only in the inventory. You cannot rename or delete them there. Imported certificates can be renamed. They can be deleted once no distribution uses them.

> **[Import and use a certificate](/tls-manager/import-certificates)**
>
> Validate a PEM certificate and key, then assign it to a distribution.

> **[Operate certificate lifecycle](/tls-manager/lifecycle)**
>
> Inspect expiry, issuance, and distribution usage.

## Automation

Use `/tls-manager/certificates` to list, upload, rename, or delete certificates. `/tls-manager/certificates/summary` returns total inventory and the number expiring within 30 days. `/tls-manager/certificates/details?certificate=42` returns certificate details and usage.

Use a [project API key](/platform/api-keys) with explicit TLS Manager permissions. The API never returns an imported private key.
